Training for the big race in September continues. This route from Ambleside to Fairfield, St Sunday Crag and returning via High Pike had plenty to test the legs. From gentle ascents and good going by Great Rigg to downhill scrambling near High Pike.
I have been focusing on the nutrition side whilst minimising carrying weight. The new montane minimus smock worked superbly in fairly bleak conditions at the summit of St Sunday's.
Lots of great blogs for advice on kit but there is nothing better than coming and seeing the Lakeland 100miler in action and the kit being carried and used. I am in awe of these ultra athletes!
